Following the Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster of 1986, 50,000 residents in Pripyat alone are evacuated from their homes.

 

Now, forty years later, while the war on Ukraine continues, three displaced families move from the ruins of Kyiv back into the exclusion zone, taking their chances in a place where the wildlife has thrived despite radioactive contamination.​
